How to compress a photo to a size in KB
- Choose your image or drop it into the box above.
- Type the maximum size the form allows, for example 50, 100 or 200 KB.
- Click Compress, then download the result. It is saved as a JPG.
How does it work?
The tool first lowers the JPG quality until the file fits. If that is not enough, it also makes the image slightly smaller in width and height, and tries again until the file is under your limit.
Is it safe?
Yes. The compression happens inside your browser. Your photo is not sent to any server, which matters for ID and passport photos.
