Scanned PDF to Word, for Arabic and French
Turn a scanned PDF or a photo of a page into text you can edit, then save it as a Word file. Your document stays on your device.
The first use downloads the reading engine (about 6 MB), so it takes longer. Handwriting is not supported.

What is a scanned PDF?
A scanned PDF is a picture of a page. You cannot select or copy its text, and Word cannot edit it. This tool reads the letters in the picture (a method called OCR) and gives you real text.
How accurate is it?
Clean printed pages give good results. Arabic is harder for a computer to read than French or English, so expect some wrong letters, especially with small print, decorative fonts, vowel marks or a blurry photo. Always reread the text before you use it.
Tips for a better result
Scan or photograph the page straight, in good light, with the text sharp. Crop out stamps and margins if you can. Choose the right language: reading Arabic text with the French setting gives nonsense.
What is kept in the Word file?
The text and its paragraphs, with Arabic set right-to-left. Tables, images and the original layout are not kept. Documents longer than 30 pages are cut at 30 pages.
Is it safe?
Yes. The reading happens inside your browser. Your document is not sent to any server.
